Mehdi Mirkiaei

Mehdi Mirkiaei (born 1973 in Tehran) is an Iranian writer, scholar, and literary figure. He holds a doctorate in post-Islamic Iranian history and is a faculty member at Allameh Tabataba'i University. Mirkiaei has authored more than forty books spanning fiction, contemporary history, and short stories, with a particular focus on children’s and young adult literature.

His writing combines literary storytelling with historical, social, and political themes, often presenting complex historical narratives in an accessible form for younger audiences. He is especially known for the multi-volume The Saga of Colonialism, a widely read series that has received national recognition in Iran. In addition to his scholarly and creative work, Mirkiaei has played an active role in Iran’s literary and educational institutions, and several of his books have been honored with national awards.
