Shaping Global Children’s Publishing – İntrotema Co-Organizes the Tehran Children’s Publishing Fellowship 2025

In May 2025, İntrotema Literary Agency had the honour of co-organizing the first Tehran Children’s Publishing Fellowship, in collaboration with Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the Iranian Association of Children and Young Adults Publishers. Held from 12 to 15 May as part of the 36th Tehran International Book Fair, the fellowship focused on children’s and young adult literature.

The programme brought together 91 publishers from 34 countries, including Türkiye, Russia, China, Brazil and Italy. Through panels, workshops and networking sessions, participants explored translation rights, digital storytelling and market trends in children’s publishing.

As co-organizers, we played a key role in shaping the professional programme and connecting Iranian and international publishers. Our team also presented our catalogue, introducing the authors and illustrators we represent to a global audience.

A highlight of the fellowship was the “Stories Without Borders” panel, where Iranian authors and illustrators presented their work and showcased the rich cultural narratives of Iran, underlining the strong potential of Iranian children’s literature in the international market.

The Tehran Children’s Publishing Fellowship marked a new chapter in international publishing dialogue. We are proud to have helped bring it to life and look forward to the lasting partnerships it will inspire.
