Stepping into Central Asia: İntrotema at the Astana Eurasia Book Fair
Kicking off on April 22 and running through April 26, the Astana Eurasia Book Fair marked a historic moment for the Turkish publishing industry. For the very first time, the Republic of Türkiye proudly participated with an official National Stand, meticulously organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
İntrotema Literary Agency was honored to take its place alongside eight esteemed Turkish publishing houses under this monumental pavilion. The Turkish stand, which proudly stood out as the largest at the fair, became an immediate hub of cultural and professional exchange. Throughout the event, the Ministry hosted dynamic daily sessions, shining a global spotlight on the TEDA translation grant program and officially introducing the Istanbul Publishing Fellowship to international attendees.
On April 23, the fairgrounds buzzed with highly productive B2B meetings specifically aimed at bridging Turkish and Kazakh publishers and fostering new literary connections. While the fair provided a boutique, focused environment with a total of 66 stands, it boasted a vibrant and highly strategic international presence. Alongside a notably strong turnout of Russian publishers, the event featured prominent official stands from Azerbaijan, Mongolia, and the Venezuelan embassy.
