In May 2025, İntrotema participated in the 42nd Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL), one of Southeast Asia’s premier literary events. Held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) from May 23 to June 1, the fair attracted over 1.9 million visitors, showcasing the region’s vibrant publishing landscape.

With 258 exhibitors occupying 1,172 booths, including international participants from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, the United Kingdom, and Türkiye, PBAKL 2025 provided a dynamic platform for cultural exchange and collaboration.

A highlight of the fair was the Asian Rights Fair (ARF), which facilitated business matching sessions and discussions on regional publishing trends. This initiative aimed to elevate ASEAN writers and publishers on the international stage, aligning with Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair in 2025.

At PBAKL 2025, İntrotema showcased a curated selection of Turkish children’s and young adult literature, emphasizing works suitable for translation and cross-media adaptation. Our participation underscored our commitment to fostering international partnerships and promoting diverse narratives in the global publishing arena.

We extend our gratitude to the organizers and participants of PBAKL 2025 for facilitating meaningful dialogues and collaborations. We look forward to continuing our engagement with Southeast Asia’s literary community and exploring new opportunities for cultural exchange.
