From March 11-13, 2025, we had the pleasure of attending the London Book Fair at Olympia London, one of the foremost events in the global publishing calendar.
Over three busy days, more than 1,000 exhibitors joined the Fair, and roughly 30,000 publishing professionals visited, drawn by a dynamic mix of rights trading, seminars, and networking. The International Rights Centre alone sold about 550 tables, marking a 10% increase over the previous year.
Key themes included:
-
Genre growth — Sci-fi & fantasy, graphic novels, and the “romantasy” trend strengthened their presence.
- Digital & collaborative opportunities — Chinese publishers showcased over 4,000 titles, and there were many panels & activities focused on international partnerships and tech-driven publishing.
- Supporting future readers — Sessions on inclusive reading programmes, cultivating diverse voices, and reaching younger or underserved readers were prominent.
For İntrotema, London offered rich ground: we connected with publishers from many regions, explored translation rights, and followed up on media & digital platform trends. It was inspiring to see how the industry is evolving — not just in content, but in how stories are shared, adapted, and expanded.
