In May 2025, İntrotema had the honor of co-organizing the inaugural Tehran Children’s Publishing Fellowship in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the Iranian Association of Children and Young Adults Publishers. Held from May 12 to 15, this landmark event was part of the 36th Tehran International Book Fair and focused on children’s and young adult literature.
The fellowship brought together 91 publishers from 34 countries, including Turkey, Russia, China, Brazil, and Italy, creating a dynamic platform for cross-cultural exchange and collaboration. Participants engaged in panels, workshops, and networking sessions, discussing topics such as translation rights, digital storytelling, and market trends in children’s publishing.
As co-organizers, İntrotema played a pivotal role in shaping the professional program and facilitating connections between Iranian and international publishers. Our team also had the opportunity to showcase our catalog, highlighting Turkish authors and illustrators to a global audience.
A significant highlight was the “Stories Without Borders” panel, where Iranian authors and illustrators presented their works, emphasizing the rich cultural narratives of Iran. This session underscored the potential of Iranian children’s literature in the global market.
The Tehran Children’s Publishing Fellowship marked a new chapter in global publishing dialogue, reinforcing the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration. İntrotema is proud to have contributed to this historic event and looks forward to fostering enduring partnerships that transcend borders.
