Ibrahim Nasrallah
Ibrahim Nasrallah is a celebrated Palestinian poet, novelist, and artist whose work intimately blends personal history with the struggles of his people. Born to displaced parents in 1948 and raised in a Jordanian refugee camp, he dedicated himself fully to writing in 2006. He has authored a vast body of work—including 15 poetry collections and 22 novels—most notably the monumental Palestinian Comedy series, which chronicles 250 years of modern Palestinian history and has been translated globally.
Beyond literature, Nasrallah is an accomplished painter and photographer whose art frequently intersects with activism, such as his novel The Spirits of Kilimanjaro, inspired by a climb with disabled Palestinian youths. In a testament to his profound global impact, he was named the laureate of the 2026 Neustadt International Prize for Literature. Often dubbed the "American Nobel," this prestigious honor recognizes his exceptional literary achievement and unwavering commitment to preserving Palestinian cultural memory.
