Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu

Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu is a prominent Turkish psychiatrist, author, and television presenter whose work has profoundly impacted contemporary Turkish pop culture. Born in Ankara in 1947, she graduated from Ankara University Medical School and completed her specialization in psychiatry at Hacettepe University, where she later served as a lecturer. Her early career was marked by a successful period as a TRT announcer, where she became a household name known as "Miss TRT."

In 2005, she founded Turkey's first private psychiatric center, the Madalyon Psychiatric Center. Budayıcıoğlu launched her literary career in 2004 with Inside the Medallion, pioneering a unique genre of psychotherapeutic novels based on real-life case studies. Her books offer deep psychological insights and have inspired record-breaking television series such as The Innocents (Masumlar Apartmanı), The Red Room (Kırmızı Oda), Chrysalis (Camdaki Kız), and Evermore (İstanbullu Gelin). Through her writing, she has sparked a nationwide conversation on mental health, trauma, and healing.
