Hanna Limulja

Hanna Limulja (b. 1982) is a distinguished Brazilian anthropologist whose career is defined by a profound commitment to the Yanomami people. Holding a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, she has worked extensively since 2008 at the intersection of indigenous rights and cultural preservation, collaborating with prominent NGOs like the Instituto Socioambiental and Survival International.

Limulja’s impact spans academic research, indigenous health advocacy, and documentary filmmaking. Her groundbreaking work has earned international acclaim, including the 2020 ANPOCS Award for Best Doctoral Thesis and a Special Mention at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival for her work on the documentary Mãri Hi: The Dream Tree. She currently continues her mission as a professor at the Federal University of Roraima, fostering vital intercultural education.
