On October 11, İntrotema successfully hosted the inaugural International Culture Meetings in İstanbul at the Albayrak Media Center.
The event welcomed participants from 15 countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, India, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Sudan. Attendees included international students currently pursuing their undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in Türkiye, creating a vibrant platform for cultural dialogue and exchange.
During the full-day workshop, participants:
-
Presented insights into their national publishing markets
-
Shared information about leading authors and literary trends
-
Discussed the role of Turkish literature in their home countries
The discussions also explored translation collaborations, copyright exchanges, and the potential for joint cultural initiatives in the near future.
In addition, participants exchanged valuable ideas on film, cinema, series, and documentary production, paving the way for new creative partnerships.
This meaningful program served as a prelude to the International Translation Summit (ITS), an İntrotema initiative dedicated to fostering collaboration and dialogue in the field of translation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants and to the Federation of International Student Associations (UDEF) for their valuable support and contributions.
