Zoran Živković

Zoran Živković is a Serbian writer, essayist, translator, and professor known for blending imaginative fiction, metafiction, and philosophical reflection. He studied literary theory at the University of Belgrade, earning a master’s and doctorate in science fiction studies, and founded Polaris Press, introducing over two hundred international titles into Serbian. Initially a critic and essayist, Živković began writing his own fiction in the 1990s, producing works that mix the surreal with everyday life.

He has authored 21 works of fiction published in more than 20 languages and 23 countries, including mosaic novels like The Library. Several of his stories have been adapted for film, television, and radio. From 2007 to 2017, he taught creative writing at the University of Belgrade, mentoring a new generation of Serbian authors and solidifying his place in contemporary world literature.
